BYD’s Affordable Fangchengbao Tai 3 Pre-Sale Starts at RMB 139,800

Fangchengbao, BYD’s off-road brand embracing personalization, starts the pre-sale of its Tai 3 model. The Tai 3 is positioned as a tech trendy compact off-road SUV, featuring a mecha-inspired design. The company disclosed the pre-sale prices between RMB 139,800 ($19,200*) to RMB 203,800 ($$28,000*) in 5 trims, with one trim being equipped with a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle). The Tai is scheduled to start delivery in April.

Model Variants and Pricing

The Tai 3, the first model from FangChengBao Tai series, is claimed to be the funniest model under FangChengBao, targeting a larger family car market. Highlights include a ”1 drone + 3 zones” design, God’s Eye C ADAS, DiPilot 100, Yunnian-C predictive suspension, and EVO+ platform.

Design and Dimensions

The tai 3 is a 5-seater mid-size pure-electric SUV, with a dimension of 4605mm long, 1900mm wide, and 1720mm high. The wheelbase measures 2745mm.

Unique Features

The ”1 drone + 3 zones” represents the funny gene of the model, providing a free exploration. One drone is the Lingyuan intelligent drone system co-developed by BYD and DJI. The 3 zones includes, 1) the electric front cabin for a storage space of 151L, 2) the eco-cockpit with an advanced and interesting human-car interaction functions, a frigerator, rear-seats capable of folding down into a bed, and dual-zone climate control, 3) a convenient rear compartment of 28L capacity.

EVO+ platform Rundown

As for the God’s Eye C ADAS, DiPilot 100, Yunnian-C are standard intelligent package on various BYD models, we will only introduce some new things on Tai 3, which are the configurations provided by the EVO+ platform.

The Tai 3 has a specialized system, called the iATS smart all-terrain recognition system, enabling the car to handle various tough driving scenarios, such as snow whether, muddy road, mountains, and sand. A newcomer of off-road lifestyle? No worries, the Tai 3 is armed with some very helpful and practical functions, including the energy three locks, trapped vehicle assistant, creep mode, and leopard turn.

EVO+ platform has more to offer. The battery system could shorten the charging time by 40% at low-temperature environment, shorten the 30%-80% SOC charging time into 18 munites.

Fangchengbao’s Market Positioning

FangChengBao was established in August 2023 by BYD. Except for the new Tai 3, FangChengBao has another 2 models on sale now, Bao 5 and Bao 8, both featuring hybrid SUV, which targets RMB 200,000 ($27,500*) – RMB 400,000($55,000*) market. Tai 3 will be a plus to the brand to attract lower-price market segment.
