SAIC’s new brand Shangjie has attracted popular attention. Insiders also
mentioned that Huawei team has already worked at SAIC.
Details of the Cooperation
On February 13th, sources close to Huawei confirmed to media that the cooperation approach between Huawei and SAIC has been essentially confirmed. SAIC chose to cooperate with Huawei on establishing a new brand “Shangjie” (尚界in Chinese) under HIMA (Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance), in which Huawei is the most deeply involved like its preceders, Seres, Chery, BAIC and JAC.

Model Launches and Future Plans
According to local media, the two parties have already decided to launch two models, and the first one will enter market by the end of 2025, which will be developed based on an existing model from SAIC’s sub-brand Rising Auto.
Additionally, Shangjie will be the fifth brand of HIMA, targeting younger market pricing between RMB170,000 (approximately $23,300), to RMB 250,000 (approximately $34,200), as reported. If this is true, Shangjie will be the most affordable model under HIMA.
