Geely Auto Reports January Sales of 270,167 Units, NEVs Account for 46%
Geely Auto announced its January 2026 sales reached 270,167 vehicles, representing a slight increase of 1.6% compared to approximately 266,000 units delivered in the same month last year. Sales across its brand portfolio show Geely brand deliveries at 217,438 units, Lynk & Co at 28,877 units, and Zeekr at 23,852 units. A significant highlight is the contribution of new energy vehicles, which accounted for 46% of the total monthly volume.
BYD's January Passenger Vehicle Sales Reach 205,518 Units
BYD released its January 2026 production and sales report on February 1, revealing total sales of 210,100 vehicles for the month, which marks a year-on-year decrease of 30.11%. Within this figure, passenger vehicle sales totaled 205,518 units. A detailed breakdown shows sales of pure electric passenger vehicles were 83,200, down 33.60% year-on-year, while plug-in hybrid passenger vehicle sales reached 122,300, reflecting a 28.53% decrease compared to January 2025.
Chinese Electric Vehicle Startups Show Divergent Growth in January Deliveries
Major Chinese electric vehicle startups disclosed their January 2026 delivery figures on February 1, revealing a clear split in year-on-year performance. Xiaomi Auto led the group with over 39,000 deliveries, securing the top spot among new entrants for the first month of the year. Leapmotor followed with 32,059 vehicles sold, achieving a strong 27.37% annual growth. Li Auto reported sales of 27,668 units, a decrease of 7.55% from the previous year. Nio recorded a substantial surge, delivering 27,182 vehicles for a notable 96.08% increase. XPeng Motors ranked fifth with 20,011 units delivered, representing a 34.07% decline, highlighting the varied challenges and momentum within the competitive segment.
