China's March Passenger Vehicle Sales Hit 1.94M Units, Up 14.4% YoY

April 9 — CPCA data shows March passenger cars retail sales reached 1.94 million units (+14.4% YoY, +40.2% MoM), with Q1 2025 totaling 5.127 million units (+6% YoY). The stable 22 working days in April are expected to support steady production and sales growth.  

NEV Penetration Hits 51.1% in March as Domestic Brands Lead Charge

April 9 — New energy vehicles accounted for 991,000 units (+38% YoY) or 51.1% of March passenger car sales, up 8.7% YoY. Domestic brands achieved 72% NEV penetration, while luxury and mainstream joint ventures reached just 35% and 6% respectively, per CPCA.  

OPPO, SAIC Expand Tech Tie-Up to Cover Global Markets

April 9 — The off-road BJ40 EREV starts at RMB 154,800 (USD 21,000*) post-subsidies (MSRP: RMB 179,800–199,800). Its 40.3kWh battery delivers 152km pure-electric range and 1,200km total endurance. The "3 e-locks + smart AWD" system offers 11 terrain modes, with e-lock response 30x faster than mechanical equivalents.
