HIMA Confirms 10,000+ May Deliveries for AITO M8  

HIMA, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, announced its AITO M8 SUV will exceed 10,000 May deliveries amid double-shift full-capacity production. Orders placed before March 16 (pre-orders) and converted to firm orders by April 19 are being delivered this month, with post-April reservations shipping after June 1. Weekly output will hit 4,000–5,000 units by month-end, accelerating the model’s challenge to Li Auto L8’s dominance.  

BYD Yangwang U7 Customer Units Roll Off Production Line

BYD’s Yangwang U7, claiming the world’s first "super four-motor flagship sedan," has begun customer deliveries following its March launch. The model offers four- and five-seat configurations priced at RMB 708,000 (USD 98,300) and RMB 628,000 (USD 87,200) respectively. Its quad-motor setup delivers 1,300 hp, 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and DiSus-P hydraulic suspension for active roll control.  

Cherry Establishes "Intelligentization Center" to Consolidate Tech Units  

Cherry Automobile has integrated subsidiaries Lion Tech and ZDrive.AI with its R&D headquarters to form a unified "Cherry Intelligentization Center," according to local media on May 29. The center encompasses full-stack development capabilities across smart cockpits, ADAS, and digital architecture, and innovative module. Spokesperson Jin Yibo confirmed the restructuring as "a pivotal step in Chery's intelligentization strategy."  

Li Auto Q1 Adjusted Net Profit Falls 20% to RMB 1.02B Despite Record Deliveries  

Li Auto reported Q1 2025 revenue of RMB 25.93 billion (USD 3.60 billion), up 1.1% YoY, with adjusted net profit declining 20% to RMB 1.02 billion (USD 141.7 million). The automaker delivered 92,864 vehicles (+16% YoY) but faced margin pressure from aggressive pricing. For Q2, it projects revenue of RMB 32.5–33.8 billion (USD 4.51–4.69 billion) and deliveries of 123,000–128,000 units, banking on refreshed L-series models to boost profitability.
