Lynk & Co Launches 10 and Performance 10+ Electric Sedans

On May 29, 2026, Geely's premium brand Lynk & Co officially launched its new 10 series mid-to-large size electric sedan portfolio. The standard Lynk & Co 10 introduces three individual trims carrying a limited-time launch price range of RMB 169,900 (USD 24,600) to RMB 191,900 (USD 27,800). Concurrently, the performance-oriented Lynk & Co 10+ debuts two distinct variants, priced between RMB 219,900 (USD 31,900) and RMB 235,900 (USD 34,200).

For environmental perception, the entire series features standard Lidar hardware. Autonomous operations are supported by two separate advanced safety systems, utilizing the proprietary G-Pilot H5 and H7 hardware suites to manage highway navigation on autopilot and automated parking routines.

M-Hero Auto Commences M817 Pre-Sale with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5

Dongfeng’s luxury off-road division, M-Hero Auto, hosted the global premiere and opened pre-sales for the all-new M-Hero M817 on May 29. Developed in direct technical collaboration with Huawei Qiankun, the rugged luxury SUV enters the market with an initial pre-sale threshold starting at RMB 370,000 (USD 53,600). The off-road platform features Huawei’s next-generation dual-optical-path image-grade Lidar array, delivering a 120-meter environment tracking range capable of identifying small 14 cm debris to prevent structural underbody damage.

The M817 represents the off-road segment's first integration of the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving suite, incorporating upgraded P2P 3.0 pathing. This allows the vehicle to maintain active Navigation on Autopilot (NCA) across non-paved environments, including rural paths and unpaved mountain tracks. A specialized narrow-lane evasion function allows the vehicle to autonomously calculate clearance and execute automated tracking reverse maneuvers without safety driver intervention. Operating on an extended-range hybrid architecture, the SUV logs a 301 km pure electric range and a total comprehensive range of 1,450 km.

CPCA Projections Target 50 Million Unit Scale for Chinese Automakers

During the 2026 Future Auto Summit hosted on May 29, China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) Secretary-General Cui Dongshu outlined long-term structural targets for the domestic automotive sector. Cui Dongshu indicated that national vehicle deliveries currently hover around 35 million units annually, with a clear trajectory to hit 40 million units in the near term. Looking ahead, international market penetration is projected to expand, with Chinese vehicles expected to capture 40% to 50% of the aggregate global automotive market share.

According to the CPCA analysis, this expanding structural presence will eventually stabilize at a historical volume of approximately 50 million units globally. Cui Dongshu highlighted that vehicles are steadily transitioning into scalable mobile smart terminals and highly integrated consumer electronics. This technological evolution positions the automotive manufacturing sector as a primary industry driving China's advanced engineering, high-volume automation, and component supply chain networks into global markets.

GAC Gofly Factory Completed with First AirCab Rollout

GAC Group’s low-altitude mobility technology subsidiary, Gofly (Gaoyu), announced the formal completion of its specialized manufacturing base on May 29. To mark the facility opening, the brand officially rolled off its first production-ready flying car, designated as the GOVY AirCab.

The newly established smart manufacturing line has officially entered active operation, engineered with a baseline initial capacity target of 100 aircraft units annually. According to GAC Group, the facility integrates a complete smart manufacturing framework spanning specialized component tracking, airframe assembly structures, complex aerodynamic and power system performance testing, and finished aircraft delivery tracking. The infrastructure is designed to support GAC's broader urban air mobility development strategy heading into the late 2020s.
