Volkswagen ID.UNYX 06 Certified by Chinese MIIT with Upgraded Features

Recently, Volkswagen's latest ID.UNYX 06 model has been certified by Chinese MIIT. It is reported that this new car is an upgraded version of the ID. UNYX, which was a smart electric compact coupe SUV under Volkswagen’s ID.UX series.

Although this series is a high quality product that Volkswagen is trying to build and promote in 2024, its popularity in the Chinese market has not reached the company's expectations due to its high price. Let’s take a look:

In the third quarter of 2024, the series sold 373 vehicles. Then, as of November 2024, the total number of the ID.UNYX registered nationwide in China was 563 units. Right now, to make it more attractive among car buyers, the ID.UNYX’s price has been reduced by 40,000 yuan to 169,900 yuan (23,200 USD).

• Exterior Design

The exterior boasts a stylish design. The front features a through-line LED light strip, the roof is a sliding back design, and the rear is equipped with a through-line taillight set and a rear spoiler with a ducktail shape.

• Power system and Dimensions

In terms of power system, the ID. UNYX 06 is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 170 kW, and is matched with a lithium phosphate iron battery. The size remains unchanged, with a length, width, and height of 4663/1860/1610 mm, respectively. However, the curb weight is reduced by 70 kilograms, compared to the current single-electric-motor model on sale, to 2091 kilograms.
