BYD recently celebrated a significant achievement as its 7 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) rolled off the production line. This milestone vehicle is an updated version of the Denza N7 SUV, set to be officially launched by BYD's premium sub-brand Denza on April 1, as announced in a recent Weibo post.
The journey to this remarkable milestone began in 2003 when BYD entered the automotive industry. Since then, it has sold its first NEV in 2008 and currently offers a diverse range of models across its brand portfolio.

In addition to its main brand, BYD Auto, the company also operates premium sub-brands such as Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang. Denza, established as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler in February 2011, saw BYD's stake increase to 90% in 2022.
Under the Denza brand, several notable models have been launched, including the D9 MPV and the 2024 D9. The Denza N7, introduced on July 3, 2023, competes with Tesla's Model Y and offers a starting price of RMB 301,800 ($41,920). Following this, the Denza N8 SUV was launched on August 5, 2023, with a starting price of RMB 319,800 ($419,800).
The updated Denza N7 is set to be officially launched on April 1, with show cars already available at Denza stores in 70 cities across China since March 23. This launch underscores BYD's commitment to innovation and its leadership in the NEV segment.
BYD's overseas strategy hinges on penetrating global markets with its diverse lineup,leveraging its proven track record in electric buses and passenger cars, BYD aims to replicate its domestic success on a global scale.
In 2023, BYD witnessed a remarkable surge in overseas sales, totaling 242,759 vehicles, a substantial leap from 55,656 units in 2022, marking a 336% increase within a year. Notably, the ATTO 3 emerged as the best-selling model, with 100,020 units sold, followed closely by the Dolphin with 74,884 units. The Song Plus and Seal models also made significant contributions to overseas sales, particularly in Latin America. Additionally, the Destroyer 05, Seagull, and E6 models showcased promising performances in various markets, underscoring BYD's growing presence and diverse product offerings on the global stage.
