BYD Seal EV Wins 2024 China Automotive Quality Research Quality  Award

Recently, BYD, Chinese EV Giant announced on its official Weibo account that the BYD Seal EV won the 2024 China Automotive Quality Research (AQR) Quality Experience Award, and was honored as the No.1 Mid-High-End Pure Electric Vehicle. This demonstrates BYD Seal EV’s quality and strength.

Not long ago, www.12365auto, a third-party automotive complaint filling and quality evaluation platform, and Car Research Consulting (凯睿赛驰咨询) jointly released the latest "2024 China Automotive Quality Research (AQR)". The BYD Seal EV was awarded the first place in the Quality Experience Award for Mid-High-End Pure Electric Vehicles.

This August, BYD launched its 2025 version of BYD Seal EV, with four trims available for sale, in a price range between 175,700 yuan to 239,800 yuan. What are the cutting-edge NEV technologies are used in this car? Autocango is here to give you a rundown on the model.

e-Platform 3.0

BYD Seal is the first high-performance sedan built on e-Platform 3.0, which including 5 major technological clusters, making the car safer, more efficient and stronger.

-        The CTB (cell-to-body) Technology: the CTB is a safety architecture for the car, it integrates the battery seamlessly into the car’s chassis, making the battery safer, and the car stronger.

-        8-in1 Intelligent Powertrain System: the system integrates 8 key components incorporating VCU, BMS, MCU, PDU, DC-DC controller, on-board charger, drive motor and transmission, enhancing the space utilization of the car, reducing the car weight and inpoving the car’s power efficency.

-        The High Efficiency Heat Pump System: the system comes as standard and reduces the energy loss by 20% at both low and high temperature.

-        Full-domain Intelligent Fast Charging Technology: the technology enables the car to charge in extreme cold or heat weather on any kind of charging piles without affecting its charging efficiency. The car can be charged from 20% to 80% on just 20 munites.

-        iTAC System: by utilizing this technology, BYD Seal offer the consumers a better controlled vehicle. By predicting the wheel speed change 50ms in advance, the car can recognized the potential risk of slipping, and adjust precisely, and restore the car’s stability, thus enhancing the driving experience.

Intelligent Configurtions

The 2025 BYD Seal is first sedan to be equipped with LiDAR in BYD models. The car is equipped with BYD's in-house developed advanced driver assistance system, achieving L2+ autonomous driving capabilities.

Performance:

BYD Seal EV features a high-performance electric motor of 390kw, and the FWD version can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.8s, and achieves a peak speed of 240km/h.

Chassis Tuning

The 2025 BYD Seal EV is equipped with the BYD's Yunnian-C Intelligent Damping Body Control System, which enhances the adaptability, stability, comfort, and control of the car.

Till now, there are three models under the BYD Seal series: Seal EV, Seal 06 DM-I, and Seal 07 DM-i. According to BYD, BYD Seal series sold 58,285 units in this September.

About the AQR

From the perspective of true car users, the China Automotive Quality Research (AQR) project gathers car users' views on all quality issues of vehicles, and scores each car model. The calculation method is: Vehicle Quality Score = Number of Car Problems X Complaint Degrees, with a result of a negative score; the lower the score is, the better the quality is.

This year, the China Automotive Quality Research (AQR) studied 128 models from 51 mainstream automotive brands on China market, among which Chinese domestic brands accounting for 56.9% and the new energy models accounting for 35.9%.
