BYD's First 100 Deliveries of the U9
Recently, BYD's premium brand, 仰望 (Yangwang), has announced the 100th deliveris of its first supercar the Yangwang U9. This marks that Chinese brand have established their presence in high-end segment.
The U9 was officially launched on February 25,2024 at a price of RMB1.68 million yuan, approximately $230,800. Six months later, the supercar started delivery. Within 5 months, the car achieved 100 deliveries.
Specifications and Features
The U9 has all the features of a supercar, suchas a carbon fiber roof, rear diffuser, and an optional racing spoiler. Besides,the care is driven by electric and is equipped with an intelligent driving assistance system, which supports features such as adaptive cruise control,automatic parking, and remote parking.
As a supercar, it must have a robust powertrain. Under the hood, the U9 is powered by BYD’s Yisifang Platform (also known as the e⁴ platform), which boosting a robust powertrain:
- Combined power output: 960 kW
- Peak torque: 1,680 Nm
- 0 to 100 km/h sprint: 2.36 seconds
- 0-400 meter sprint: 9.78 seconds
Brand Overview
Yangwang was born in 2023, as BYD’s sub-brand mainly targeting premium new energy vehicle market. Currently, there are two modelsfor sale: the U9 supercar and the U8 SUV.
Autocango also learned from the media that another million-level large sedan from Yangwang, the U7, is on its way to enter the market soon in early 2025.
