China EV Startups Report June & H1 2025 Delivery Figures


Major Chinese EV manufacturers including Leapmotor (48,006 units), Li Auto (36,279 units), XPeng (34,611 units), and NIO (24,925 units) disclosed June and first-half 2025 delivery results on July 1. Li Auto recorded month-on-month delivery contractions in four out of the past six months.



China Holds 68.3% Global NEV Market Share Jan-May, Says CPCA  


Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), reported China accounted for 68.3% of global new energy passenger vehicle sales from January to May 2025 on June 30. The country's market share reached 70.4% in May alone— a 3% year-on-year increase — maintaining its dominant position in the worldwide electric mobility transition.



Leapmotor's Cao Li: Flagship D-Series to Debut in H2 2025  


Cao Li, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor Technology, announced on his Weibo account on June 30, that the automaker's flagship D-Series vehicles will launch in the second half of 2025. Featuring the world's first dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8795 chipsets, the premium models will join an aggressive product offensive including the next-generation C11 refresh, July market entry of the B01 sedan, and impending B05 release. Cao emphasized "substantial progress" during the first half while acknowledging intensive H2 operational demands across R&D, production, and launch timelines for four concurrent model introductions.



NIO's William Li Declares Strategic Victory in Self-Developed Chip Deployment


Lately, NIO Founder and CEO William Li announced via Weibo that the automaker's proprietary NIO World Model (NWM) began rolling out to ET9, new ES6, new EC6, new ET5, and ET5T models over the weekend. This milestone confirms the NX9031 – NIO's self-developed 5nm automotive-grade autonomous driving chip – has achieved target application performance. "Initial on-board deployment demonstrates we've fundamentally accomplished our strategic chip development objectives," Li stated. The NX9031 represents the industry's first vehicle-application 5nm processor, marking a critical step in NIO's vertical integration of intelligent driving technologies.
