Voyah FREE+ Opens Presales at RMB 229,900; Secures 10,000 Orders in 18 Hours

Voyah Auto has started presale of its latest facelifted Voyah FREE+ SUV, with prices starting from RMB 229,900 (≈USD 31,900). It is announced by the automaker that FREE+ variant secured 5,000 orders within one hour of presale commencement, and surpassing 10,000 in just 18 hours

Comprehensive Upgrades: 1,366 Enhancements Across Exterior and Interior

The facelifted Voyah FREE+ SUV upgraded 1,366 enhancements over the current Voyah FREE, in both exterior and interior redesigns, among which, 82 enhancements cast class-leading features, especially in driver assistance, comfort/convenience, chassis tuning, and safety systems.

Advanced Intelligent Driving System Powered by Huawei

In terms of intelligent configurations, the Voyah FREE+ has Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 autonomous driving and HarmonySpace 5 cockpit, supported by upgraded cloud/vehicle algorithms, as standard for all trims. The car integrates 9 high-performance sensors, including a 192-line lidar—enables industry-leading full-scenario assistance. All of these ensure Voyah FREE+ an industry-leading capabilities in autonomous driving field, such as urban navigation on city autopilot (NCA), parking, AEB and eAES.

Chassis and Suspension: Comfort Meets Performance

Chassis remains its core strength. The FREE+ applies full-aluminum chassis paired with an upgraded Electronic Damping Control (EDC) system, which enables millisecond-level adaptive adjustments at 100 cycles per second. The car provides the drivers and the passengers a comfort and stable ride on various road conditions with the help of full-aluminum chassis, long-stroke air suspension, and the electromagnetic damping reduction technology.

Rigorous Safety Features

Safety is most important. FREE+ utilizes a 75% ultra-high-strength steel cage body structure, with a 2,000MPa door anti-intrusion beams, and 136 additional protective measures.

Powertrain and Performance Specifications

In terms of powertrain, the car uses a new 1.5T range-extender system with offering of both RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations.

- The RWD variant is equipped with a drive motor producing 215kW power.

- The AWD variant delivers 350kW (476hp) power, and achieves a 0-100km/h sprint of 4.9 seconds.

According to the MIIT application file, the car will have a 43.2kWh battery pack, with a pure-electric CLTC range of 235km/225km (RWD) and 196km/190km (AWD). Both trims support fast-charging and 6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.

Market Performance and Challenges Ahead

As the first mass-produced model of Voyah, Voyah FREE was launched in Q2 2021. Last May, the brand launched a upgraded variant of Voyah FREE318, and started delivery across China in August. According to market data, Voyah delivered 46,000 units during Jan-May period, marking a 85% surge YoY.

Though Voyah had a great increase in the sales volumes, comparing to its annual sales target of 200,000 units, it has a long and hard way to go beyond.
