Xiaomi SU7 Reports Over 80,000 Locked Orders in 48 Days

On May 6, Xiaomi Auto announced that the new generation SU7 has secured more than 80,000 locked orders within just 48 days of its official market entry.

The new SU7 was launched on March 19, 2026, featuring three configurations: the Standard version at RMB 219,900 (USD 31,900), the Pro version at RMB 249,900 (USD 36,200), and the flagship Max version at RMB 303,900 (USD 44,000).

This rapid order accumulation highlights the sustained demand for Xiaomi’s primary electric sedan in the competitive RMB 200,000 to 300,000 price segment.

According to Xiaomi, the new SU7 incorporates several hardware and safety upgrades over the previous model, including triple-redundant door handles and an enhanced 800V architecture for the entry-level trim. The current order volume is expected to put significant pressure on Xiaomi’s manufacturing capacity, which has been scaling up throughout the first half of 2026 to address long delivery lead times.

Long-Distance Range Performance and Delivery Metrics

To demonstrate real-world efficiency, the new SU7 completed a long-distance range challenge from Beijing to Shanghai, covering a total distance of 1,313 kilometers with only one charging stop. The test consumed 1,750 km of CLTC range, resulting in an equivalent range achievement rate of 75%. During the drive, the vehicle maintained an average speed of 99.6 km/h, with a power consumption of 14.6 kWh/100 km. These figures represent significant efficiency gains for an intelligent electric sedan operating under high-speed highway conditions.

In terms of market performance, Xiaomi delivered over 30,000 units in April, representing a 50% increase month-on-month. For the first four months of 2026, cumulative deliveries reached over 109,000 units, a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

New Model Outlook: YU7 GT Debut Scheduled for Late May

Xiaomi confirmed that it will expand its product portfolio with the release of the YU7 GT at the end of May. As the first model to be deeply influenced by the Xiaomi European R&D center, the YU7 GT is positioned as a high-performance luxury vehicle. According to preliminary technical data, the model will feature a dual-motor setup and is expected to deliver a CLTC range of approximately 705 km.
