Xiaomi Launches New Generation SU7 with Performance Upgrades

On March 19, 2026, Xiaomi Motors officially unveiled the next iteration of its highly successful electric sedan, the new generation Xiaomi SU7. The lineup is presented in three distinct configurations to cater to varying performance and range requirements.

The Standard version is priced at RMB 219,900 (USD 31,900), the Pro version at RMB 249,900 (USD 36,200), and the flagship Max version at RMB 303,900 (USD 44,000). Notably, these price points reflect a modest increase of RMB 4,000 (USD 600) across all trims compared to the first-generation models, a move justified by significant hardware advancements.

Technologically, the new SU7 integrates a full-domain Silicon Carbide (SiC) high-voltage platform paired with the upgraded V6s Plus super motor. This new powertrain allows the motor to reach a peak rotational speed of 21,000 rpm. According to Xiaomi official data, the CLTC comprehensive efficiency of the electric drive system has improved by 1.5%, effectively balancing raw performance with long-term energy endurance.

Revolutionary Range and Ultra-Fast Charging Capabilities

The new generation SU7 sets a high benchmark for endurance in the premium EV segment. The Pro variant leads the pack with a CLTC-rated range of 902 km, while the Max version offers 835 km, and the Standard version provides a robust 720 km. These figures position Xiaomi competitively against long-range industry leaders like Tesla and Lucid.

Charging speeds have seen a generational leap as well. The Max variant utilizes an 897V (900V-class) high-voltage platform, capable of replenishing 670 km of range in just 15 minutes. The Standard version is not far behind, employing a 752V (800V-class) platform that can add 450 km of range within the same 15-minute window. This infrastructure ensures that the SU7 is not just a high-performance machine, but a practical choice for long-distance regional travel.

Market Reception: 30,000 Locked Orders and Growing

The market response to the new generation SU7 has been overwhelmingly positive. During a delivery live stream held on March 23, Xiaomi Group Chairman Lei Jun revealed that firm "locked" orders for the new model have already exceeded 30,000 units. This rapid conversion highlights the strong brand loyalty and consumer trust Xiaomi has cultivated in the automotive sector within a short period.

To support this demand, Xiaomi has activated a massive retail and trial network across China. Currently, 492 experience centers in 143 cities are offering test drives. Lei Jun reported that between March 20 and March 22 alone, more than 50,000 individuals participated in test drive sessions.
