Xpeng Motors has initiated a large-scale overseas shipment of its newly refreshed P7+ sedan, marking a significant step in its international expansion. A fleet of vehicles departed from Lianyungang Port in Jiangsu Province, destined for 18 countries across the globe. The 2026 P7+, heralded by Xpeng as its first global AI-powered car, was launched in 36 countries and is manufactured to a unified global production and safety standard.
Building on a Legacy with New Intelligence
The P7+ builds upon the foundation of the original P7, a middle-large pure-electric coupe that helped establish XPeng's reputation for sporty design and advanced driver-assistance systems, pricing from RMB 229,900 – 349,900 (USD33,130 – 50,400). The new P7+, which was launched with refresh in January 2026, elevates its technological core.
It is now equipped as standard with a powerful suite for intelligent driving, including:
- One Turing AI chip
- millimeter-wave radar
- ultrasonic sensors
- Multiple high-definition cameras
This hardware enables features like Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP) for city and highway use, smart parking, remote parking, and trace reverse assist. Customers can further enhance their vehicle with optional Ultra SE or Ultra packages, which add a second Turing AI chip, a second-generation VLA LiDAR, and an in-cabin camera for occupant monitoring.
A Strategic Push Amid Market Headwinds
This global shipment kicks off a pivotal phase for XPeng's flagship sedan. To meet anticipated demand in Europe, the company is advancing localized production at its contract manufacturing facility in Graz, Austria. The first customer deliveries in 25 European markets are scheduled to begin in April 2026.
The company reported 20,011 deliveries in January 2026, reflecting market challenges. The international rollout of the P7+, a key model in its portfolio, is crucial for XPeng to carve out a stronger position worldwide and diversify its growth sources beyond the domestic Chinese market.
