Li MEGA, The Very First EV with Built-in GPT Capability Hits Market Today

At the Li Auto's Spring Launch Event 2024 held today, the Li MEGA, a flagship model and the brand's first pure electric product, was officially launched. It offers one model with a price of 559,800 RMB.


Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P high-performance chip, the Li MEGA boasts a computing power of 60TOPS. Inside, it utilizes two sets of IR+RGB binocular vision sensors and six arrays of dual microphones. Using 3 trillion tokens of data, the official team trained the AI assistant Li Xiang Tongxue with multiple books and papers, enabling it to form its own cognition and "understand what you say, even the subtext". Supported by the revolutionary in-car GenAI model Mind GPT, the assistant could provide functions such as "encyclopedia teacher", vehicle assistance, travel assistance, and entertainment assistance.


In terms of the powertrain system, the Li MEGA uses an 800V high-voltage electrical platform, achieving the lowest energy consumption of any pure electric four-wheel-drive MPV globally, at just 15.9 kWh/100km. The vehicle is equipped with a 102.7 kWh 5C Kirin battery jointly developed with CATL, which can be charged to 500km in just 12 minutes.


The Li MEGA comes standard with dual motors, with a maximum power of 245 kW and a combined maximum power of 400 kW for the entire vehicle, enabling a zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.5 seconds.


In terms of intelligent assisted driving systems, the Li MEGA comes standard with the AD Max intelligent driving solution. In terms of hardware, it boasts a 128-line LiDAR, six 8-megapixel cameras, one 12-megapixel camera, and four 3-megapixel cameras for panoramic vision. Additionally, the Li MEGA will be equipped with dual Nvidia Orin X chips, enabling "advanced intelligent driving" capabilities that can be used anywhere in China this year.


Since its first unveiling last year, the Li MEGA has garnered attention for its revolutionary design that breaks the mold of traditional MPVs. With a teardrop-shaped front, a coupe-like roof, and a styling reminiscent of a "high-speed rail" bullet train, it exudes a strong sci-fi aura and appears to be a product of the future. Its wind resistance coefficient of just 0.215 makes it the MPV with the lowest wind resistance coefficient globally.
