Yesterday, BYD announce to launch Intelligent Strategy Launch Conference on February 10. Sales Targets and Tech Upgrades

It is predicted the BYD’s global sales will be 5 million vehicles in 2025, according to BYD’s orders from main suppliers. It is clear that 5 million vehicles mean a 20% increase from the previous year. Some analysts even predicted that BYD might hit 5.5 million to 6 million units.

Factory Expansion for Capacity Raise

To meet these goals, BYD definitely needs to expand its production capacity. Actually, there are two major projects under construction, one is in Jinan, in China’s Shandong Province, which is a big province for auto sales, and another in Shenzhen, BYD’s HQ. The two facilities will be completed in H1 2025, according to the company.

- Jinan Factory Phase II: Located north of the existing Jinan plant in Cui Zhai, this new factory will contribute an annual output of 300,000 units. The facility will also drive Shandong NEV industrial chain and local employment.

- Shenzhen Factory: It is the second phase of the Xiaomo Factory in the Shenzhen-Shantou BYD Auto Industrial Park, and will add 1 million units to BYD’s annual capacity.

Global Market Strategy

While BYD will continue its export strategy with in-house made roll-on/roll-off vessels. On January 15th, BYD’s fourth roll-on/roll-off vessel named "BYD Shenzhen" was launched officially, with 9,200 standard car slots. It is the biggest roll-on/roll-off vessel in the world as reports say.

The four vessels cost BYD 2.7 billion yuan, while they will cut shipping fees over 1 billion every year for BYD. According to the company, BYD is planning to build an overseas shipping fleet of 10 vessels by 2030.
