BYD has announced a significant upgrade to its warranty policy for European customers, extending the battery coverage on its passenger vehicles to an industry-leading 250,000 kilometers. This move delivers enhanced long-term value and peace of mind, particularly for high-mileage drivers.

Key Details of the Enhanced Warranty:

New Coverage: The battery warranty for all pure electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models is now extended from 200,000 km to 250,000 km, maintaining an 8-year duration (whichever comes first).

Broad Eligibility: The policy applies automatically to both new purchases and existing owners across the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Core Promise: Within the warranty period, BYD will cover repair, replacement, or other necessary measures if the battery's State of Health (SoH) falls below 70%.

Targeted Benefit: This upgrade is a boon for high-usage scenarios. To maximize the new limit, owners would need to average approximately 31,250 km per year over eight years, offering substantial added security for rideshare drivers, long-distance commuters, and frequent travelers.

Supporting Warranties: Other warranties remain unchanged, including the basic vehicle warranty (6 years/150,000 km), a 12-year anti-perforation guarantee, and an 8-year/150,000 km warranty for the e-drive system.

Model Exceptions: The extended warranty does not apply to the eTP3 commercial van, consistent with prior policy rollouts.
