CATL Launches Ning Space: A Permanent EV Showcase in Chengdu
Autocango just learned from media reports that, Chinese power battery giant CATL opened its first new energy experience center in Chengdu on August 10th. According to CATL, The showroom is called Ning Space, and has a space of 13,800 square-meter, showcasing EV models powered by its batteries.
The Ning Space is a "auto show" that never ends, providing consumer with new energy education, new energy vehicle history, new energy technology popularization, and most importantly, displaying EV models powered by CATL batteries. Now, the showroom displayed nearly 100 models from about 50 automotive brands, including NIO, Li Auto, Xpeng, Tesla, Xiaomi, Dongfeng , Honda, etc.
A Unique Showroom Experience
In Ning Space, not only can consumers learn the history and development of EVs from EV experts, the latest battery technologies, join science workshops, but also get personalized car-buying advices. Once a consumer wants to buy a specific car, the EV expert will introduce 4S store sales to the consumer for in-depth communication, therefore crafting an approachable and trustworthy brand image.
Launch of Ning Service
Furthermore, CATL also targeted the aftermarket service market, on the same day, CATL unveiled its aftermarket services brand “Ning Service”, which offering battery maintenance, health checks, and mobile rescue services. According to CATL, till now, it had a network of 112 professional service stations, covering 80 cities in 25 provinces all around China.

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd (CATL, SHE: 300750) is a global leader of new energy innovative technologies, with a 37.8 percent share in H1 2024, according to a South Korean market research company SNE Research.
Surge in New Energy Vehicle Penetration
According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China’s new energy vehicles penetration rate has surged from 5.4% in 2020 to 31.6% in 2023. In early April China’s new energy vehicles penetration rate reached 50% for the first time. According to the latest market data, the monthly new energy vehicles penetration rate in China climbed to 51.1% in July, achieved a historic breakthrough.
