Changan Automobile Sets Bold 2026 Sales Target of 1.4 Million NEVs

On March 12, 2026, Changan Automobile released an official investor relations announcement outlining a comprehensive strategic roadmap for its next phase of growth. The company has established an ambitious total sales target of 3.3 million vehicles for the 2026 fiscal year. A critical component of this plan is the rapid transition to electrification, with New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) expected to reach 1.4 million units. In addition to domestic expansion, Changan aims to solidify its global presence by achieving 750,000 sales in overseas markets. To facilitate this momentum, the automaker plans to introduce 43 new products over the next three years, of which 35 will be NEV models. For international consumers, Changan will deploy 26 new products covering more than 140 countries and regions to ensure diverse market penetration.

Strategic Focus on Blockbuster Models and Industry-First Technologies

During the 2026 fiscal year, Changan will prioritize the development of "blockbuster" products to capture significant market share. The product strategy revolves around the high-volume potential of the Changan Qiyuan A06, the Qiyuan Q05, and the Deepal L06.

On the technical front, Changan intends to maintain its competitive edge by debuting five industry-first technologies. These innovations will focus on critical safety domains, including advanced battery safety, specialized thermal runaway regulation, and a "six-directional full-dimensional safety" architecture. According to Changan’s official technical brief, these safety-first developments are essential for building long-term consumer trust in the intelligent driving era, while further strengthening the "Tianshu Intelligent" brand identity.

The Leap into Humanoid Robotics and AI Development

Changan is expanding its identity from a traditional car manufacturer to a diversified technology provider through its "1+N+X" robotics strategy. The company plans to achieve the mass production of humanoid robots by 2028, with applications spanning smart factories, retail showrooms, and private households.

To support this transition into advanced robotics and autonomous mobility, Changan has committed to an annual Research and Development investment exceeding 5% of its total revenue, specifically dedicated to artificial intelligence and software engineering. By integrating upstream and downstream industrial resources, the company seeks to create a holistic intelligent ecosystem.
