Wei Jianjun, Chairman of Great Wall Motors, conducted the "Great Wall Motor's Zero Mistake Challenge" live on April 15 from the company's headquarters in Baoding, Hebei province.

The test car was a WEY VV7 equipped with Great Wall's full-scenario Navigation On Autopilot (NOA), which traveled through Baoding's crowded city center, demonstrating autonomous driving on difficult public roadways.

The live broadcast demonstrated the NOA's capacity to properly recognize static impediments such as cone barrels and construction walls, as well as dynamic obstacles such as pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles, allowing for precision escape and rerouting.

Completing the test flawlessly, the smart driving traveled a total distance of 16.6 kilometers at an average speed of 24.7 km/h. It drove 11.5 kilometers in difficult road conditions, attaining a 100% pass rate for lanes with blurred/no demarcations and demonstrating driving skills comparable to a seasoned driver.

The car drove smoothly through 33 junctions, quickly identifying distinct traffic light signals 36 times, and completed three successful left turns, exhibiting good intersection and traffic signal awareness.

During the broadcast, the smart vehicle successfully performed avoidance and detour actions seven times for pedestrians, twelve times for automobiles, and four times for common obstructions.

Great Wall Motors stated that the successful "Zero Mistake Challenge" demonstrated the true potential of the full-scenario NOA, as Baoding represented the complex and variable road conditions found in China's second and third-tier cities.

Jianjun highlighted the company's issues, stating that Great Wall Motors will increase its social media presence and relationships with netizens, as well as fix its inadequate marketing efforts.
