2024 China Automobile Evaluation: Outcome of Evaluation for 12 Car Models Announced

Recently, CATARC Automotive Testing & Assessment Management Center (CATC) disclosed their C-ICAP and C-GCAP test findings on twelve cars.

For clarity, let me introduce C-ICAP and C-GCAP.

C-ICAP covers the test on car’s Advanced Driving Assistance System, Autonomous Driving System, Smart Cockpit, and Information Security, among other aspects.

C-ICAP looks into Assistive Driving Unit and Smart Cockpit Unit in a car. Under Assistive Driving Unit, driving assistance features include Basic Driving Assistance and Pilot Driving Assistance, while parking assistance features include Basic Parking Assistance and Memory Parking Assistance. Under the Smart Cockpit Unit, the professional evaluation mainly revolves around three dimensions: in-cabin cockpit interaction, escort services, and overall service quality.

What is C-GCAP then? The purpose of C-GCAP is to test and evaluate the green performance of vehicles in three areas: Health (Interior Air and Electromagnetic Protection), Energy Efficiency (Range, Charging Dimensions), and Low Carbon (Life-cycle Carbon Emissions).
