Huawei backed AITO M8 hit 20,000 deliveries within 45 days after its launch on April 16th, announced by HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) backed by Huawei.
The AITO M8, co-built by Huawei and Seres Group, was launched on April 16, targeting the middle-class family users with the need for hi-tech, safety and long range, perfectly competing with Li Auto L8 EREV.
The mid-to-large M8 SUV measures 5,190 (H) × 1,999 (W) × 1,795 (H) mm with a 3,105 mm wheelbase, offering six EREV variants:
- Max: RMB 359,800 (USD 49,900) for 5-seater edition, and RMB 369,800 (USD 51,400) for 6-seater edition;
- Max+: RMB 379,800 (USD 52,800) for 5-seater edition, and RMB 399,800 (USD 55,600) for 6-seater edition;
- Ultra: RMB 429,800 (USD 59,700) for 5-seater edition, and RMB 449,800 (USD 62,500) for 6-seater edition;
Technical Specifications
With the core technologies, including HUAWEI ADS 3.3 and 1.5T range-extender (118 kW), M8 is a strong contender in its class.
- HUAWEI ADS 3.3 integrates 30 sensors (192-beam roof-mounted LiDAR + rear solid-state LiDAR + 5 4D millimeter-wave radars).
- The 1.5T range-extender (118 kW) co-works with front 165 kW + rear 227 kW motors provide with a robust power for the car.
- The battery provides 161km or 240km pure-electric range, and a combined range up to 1,526km.
Production Ramp-Up and Delivery Timelines
As far as we know, the model secured 20,000+ orders in the first hour after its launch, exceeding 80,000 orders on May 20th. The factory has shifted to double-shift full-capacity production to accelerating the speed of delivery to ensure 20,000 to 30,000 units delivered in June. Current order-to-delivery cycles stand at 8–10 weeks.
