Chery Breaks Ground on Smart Factory in Malaysia: Initial Annual Capacity of 100,000 Vehicles, Production to Begin Next Year


Chery Automobile recently announced the establishment of a Chery Smart Automobile Industrial Park in the High-Tech Automotive City of Selangor, Malaysia, with construction set to be completed by 2026. The industrial park, spanning approximately 81 hectares, will have an initial annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles upon completion, with plans to expand to 300,000 vehicles in the future.


BYD Launches Compact SUV in France, Priced at €28,990


According to Reuters, BYD's sales network manager in France revealed that the company has launched a new electric compact SUV named Atto 2, with a starting price of €28,990 (approximately RMB 221,000).


Tesla Rolls Out City Road Autopilot for Chinese Customers in Phases


On February 25th, Tesla China announced that it would update its software for Chinese customers in phases. The updates include the introduction of city road Autopilot, which optimizes the existing NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) feature. This allows the use of Autopilot on controlled-access highways and urban roads, guiding the vehicle off ramps and through intersections based on navigation routes. It can also identify traffic lights at intersections and perform actions such as going straight, turning left, turning right, and making U-turns. The system will automatically change lanes based on speed and route. When no navigation route is set, it will choose the optimal path based on road conditions.


TrendForce: Global New Car Sales Expected to Reach 90.6M in 2025


On February 25th, the latest survey by TrendForce indicated that global new car sales are projected to reach 90.6 million units in 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 2.4%. China is expected to account for the largest share at 29%, followed by the United States at 18% and Western Europe at 15%. TrendForce anticipates that by 2025, new energy vehicles will make up 50% of China's new car sales.
