On May 8th, China's GAC Group announced on an interactive platform to investors that their ground-air hybrid vehicle, the 'GOVE', will make its first flight in June 2023, marking a significant advance in the field of novel mobility options. Later that year, GAC's GOVE conducted its first manned flight test, propelling its advancement even further.
Notably, in March 2024, GAC's GOVE exhibited flying capabilities above Guangzhou's bustling central business district, marking the first flight validation in a complicated urban low-altitude environment. The GOVE is available in two versions: a multi-rotor model with a maximum take-off weight of 550kg and a maximum range of 30km, and a compound wing variant built for intercity travel within a range of 150km, appropriate for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
