MG Motor, sub-brand of SAIC Group, officially launched the 2025 MG S5 pure-electric SUV (known as the MG ES5 in China) in Malaysia, pricing from RM 115,900 (approximately USD 27,100) to RM 135,900 (approximately USD 31,800). The model is set to rival with Proton e.MAS 7 Premium and BYD Atto 3 in the emerging new energy vehicle market in Southeast Asia.
The MG S5 EV measures 4,476 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm, offering a inner space space of 453 liters expandable to 1,441 liters with the seats down.

MG S5 EV supports up to 120 kW DC fast charging for COM variants, and up to 150 kW for Lux Long Range variant. The fast-charging time of the Lux Long Range variant marks 26 minutes charging from 10-80%.
The car is also the only model features rear-mounted electric motor EV in its class, delivering 170 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
