Changan Auto Unveils Breakthrough Blue Core Ultra Power

Changan Automobile officially introduced its next-generation "Blue Core Ultra Power" system on March 30, 2026, setting new industry benchmarks for hybrid efficiency. The centerpiece of this release is a hybrid-specific engine featuring 500bar ultra-high-pressure direct injection technology. This innovation allows the engine to achieve a thermal efficiency of nearly 45%, with fuel injection pressure exceeding current industry standards by approximately 43%. The system is paired with a 3V high-flux magnetic steel topology hybrid electric drive, which pushes motor efficiency beyond the 98% threshold. Furthermore, the powertrain is supported by a battery with 50C discharge capability and an AI-driven intelligent energy management system.

The practical implications of this technology are transformative for the mass market. Changan announced that under this new power architecture, the urban fuel consumption for standard blue-plate sedans will enter the "2L Era," specifically targeting 2.98L/100km. Similarly, blue-plate SUVs will enter the "3L Era," achieving an impressive 3.98L/100km in urban driving conditions. According to Changan’s strategic roadmap, the company plans to progressively roll out Blue Core Ultra Power across its entire lineup of hybrid models and will eventually push for this advanced hybrid technology to be standard across its traditional internal combustion engine products to meet increasingly stringent global emission and efficiency standards.
