On September 29, Zeekr launched its luxury flagship SUV – the 9X. The hybrid model received 10,000 firm orders in 13 minutes after its launch. Backed by the robust manufacturing capability of Geely, the brand managed to start delivery on September 30th.
Pricing from RMB 465,900 (USD 65,600) to RMB 599,900 (USD 84,500), the latest 9X is providing the customers with four trims, the Max, the Ultra, the Hyper and the Black edition.
Innovative Powertrain and Fast-Charging Technology
Zeekr claimed that 9X is the world-first model utilizing a 900V Hybrid high-voltage system, enabling the car to recharge from 20%-80% in only 9 minutes. Secondly, the Hyper and Black edition is offering the first tri-motor drive in the global hybrid sector. Thirdly, 9X creatively harnesses the 48-volt active anti-roll bar, which is used in a Chinese brand for the first time. This advanced chassis technology can actively sharpen handling, improve ride comfort and boost safety.
Breakdown of the Four Trims
Autocango will walk you through the four trims now.
The Max Edition uses 55 kWh battery package, boosting a pure-electric range of 300km (CLTC), achieving a comprehensive range of 1200KM (CLTC). The trim is powered by high-performance dual motor AWD and a 2.0T hybrid engine, capable of achieving from 1-100km/h in 3.9s. In the respect of intelligent configurations, the trim is equipped with dual Snapdragon 8295 cabin chips and one NVIDIA DRIVE Thor-U chip (700TOPS), supporting G-Pilot H7 system.
The Ultra edition is slightly different from the Max edition. The trim offers two options of battery package 55 kWh / 70 kWh, resulting in pure-electric ranges of 288km (CLTC) or 380km (CLTC), and comprehensive ranges of 1165km (CLTC) or 1250km (CLTC). It shares the same power system and intelligent functions.
The Hyper and Black editions share the same configurations, while the Black edition offers a blackened clolor on the exterior, presenting a “Dark Knight” outlook. Here are the main advanced configurations shared both by the two trims:
- Battery: 70 kWh battery package, boosting a 355km (CLTC) pure-electric range, and a 1165km (CLTC) comprehensive range.
- With the robust power produced by the combination of high-performance tri-motor AWD and 2.0T Super Hybrid Engine, the two trims enable to achieve a 0-100km/h acceleration rate in 3.1 seconds.
- The intelligent hardware is impressive: 1) dual Snapdragon 8295 cabin chips; 2) Dual NVIDIA DRIVE Thor-U chips (1400TOPS); 3) G-Pilot H9 system; 4) 5 LiDAR sensors.
More detailed exclusive functions are left for you to find out. But, which trim is most loved by potential users? According to a sales report released by the local media Auto Fans, the hyper and Black editions are the mainstream, about 70%-80% users prefer the two trims. Besides, we noticed some interesting trends, the pre-sale-to-firm-order conversion rate stands at 30–40%, and company owners and senior executives in 35-55 age bracket are the key buyers, and most of them are replacing or adding to existing premium SUVs.
