BYD Sealion 05 Market Launch and Driving Intelligence
On April 20, BYD officially launched the Sealion 05 under its Ocean Series. The Sealion 05 EV is priced between RMB 119,900 (USD 17,400) and RMB 145,900 (USD 21,100), while the Sealion 05 DM-i is priced from RMB 97,900 (USD 14,200) to RMB 127,900 (USD 18,500). The EV variant features second-generation Blade batteries with CLTC ranges of 540km and 630km. The DM-i version offers upgraded pure electric ranges of 220km and 305km. According to BYD, the Sealion 05 can be equipped with the DiPilot 300 " God’s Eye" Lidar version. This hardware upgrade enables high-level functions such as City Navigation on Autopilot (CNOA), Highway Navigation on Autopilot (HNOA), and Emergency Steering Assist (ESA). The system is designed to handle complex scenarios including roundabout navigation and all-scenario obstacle avoidance with yielding capabilities.
Deepal S07 Huawei Qiankun Lidar Edition Pricing and Features
The Deepal S07 Huawei Qiankun Lidar Edition reached the market on April 20 with two configurations. Following limited-time cash incentives, the models are priced at RMB 159,900 (USD 23,200) and RMB 169,900 (USD 24,600). The vehicle utilizes a 27-sensor fusion perception system featuring Limera Lidar technology with a shared-path optical architecture. This setup supports urban NCA for navigating narrow roads and construction bypasses without frequent manual intervention.
The intelligent suite includes the CAS 4.0 all-dimensional collision avoidance system with 20 active safety functions. For high-speed travel, the NCA system handles ramp navigation and obstacle avoidance. Parking capabilities extend to "out-of-car" parking and tracking reverse functions, which accurately identify boundaries in dead-end roads or narrow residential spaces. These features aim to reduce driver fatigue during long-distance trips while increasing safety in high-density urban environments.
M-Hero and Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Off-Road Technology
M-Hero and Huawei Qiankun jointly announced a new intelligent off-road architecture on April 20. The system integrates perception and control, marking the first application of 896-line Lidar on an off-road vehicle. This technology increases road perception accuracy from 90% to over 95%. The M-Hero 2.0 powertrain delivers a 49% increase in combined horsepower and a 30% increase in torque, enabling 0-100km/h acceleration in the 4-second range and a comprehensive range of 1,450km. The updated Rock Chassis 2.0 incorporates the Huawei Qiankun XMC digital chassis, merging driving and chassis perception across domains. According to M-Hero, the vehicle can maintain an average speed of 160km/h without power loss and supports 6C fast-charging technology. These upgrades are designed to provide high-performance output and rapid energy replenishment for extreme off-road conditions while maintaining stable electrical performance during sustained high-speed operation.
