CAAM: July Vehicle Exports Hit 575,000 Units, Up 22.6% YoY
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) reported July vehicle exports reached 575,000 units, representing 22.6% year-on-year growth though sliding 2.8% month-on-month. Cumulative exports for January-July totaled 3.68 million units, a 12.8% YoY increase. Traditional fuel vehicle exports declined 9.6% MoM and 4.3% YoY to 350,000 units in July. Conversely, new energy vehicle (NEV) exports surged 10% MoM and 120% YoY to 225,000 units.
SAIC-GM-Wuling: Hongguang MINIEV Sales Surpass 1.7 Million Units
SAIC-GM-Wuling announced cumulative sales of its Hongguang MINIEV series exceeded 1.7 million units. Over five years, the model evolved from the market-pioneering Classic edition through fashion-forward Macaron variants, targeted GAMEBOY and Cabriolet versions, to the current third-generation model and newly launched four-door edition. Each iteration reflects Wuling’s user-centric philosophy, expanding accessible urban mobility solutions without compromising core affordability or functionality across diverse consumer segments.
All-New Tank 500 Opens Pre-sales from RMB 360,000
Great Wall Motor initiated pre-sales for its redesigned Tank 500 SUV, with prices set at RMB 360,000 to RMB 388,800 (≈ USD 50,000 – USD 54,000). The model debuts Coffee Pilot Ultra, Great Wall’s third-generation ADAS featuring one 128-line LiDAR, three mm-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and eleven HD cameras powered by NVIDIA Orin-X. This enables full-scenario NOA, cross-floor memory parking, automated parking, and trace-based reverse assist. Powertrain options include a 185kW 2.0T PHEV with 37.1kWh battery (110km WLTC electric range) and the Hi4-Z dual-motor variant producing 455kW combined power with 59.05kWh battery (201km WLTC range).
CAAM: July Vehicle Sales Reach 2.593 Million, Up 14.7% YoY
Beijing, August 11 – CAAM data indicates July vehicle production and sales stood at 2.591 million and 2.593 million units respectively, declining 7.3% and 10.7% MoM while rising 13.3% and 14.7% YoY. January-July cumulative figures reached 18.235 million (production) and 18.269 million (sales), up 12.7% and 12% YoY. NEV production/sales hit 1.243 million and 1.262 million units in July (26.3% and 27.4% YoY growth), accounting for 48.7% of total sales. Year-to-date NEV figures totaled 8.232 million produced and 8.22 million sold (+39.2%/+38.5% YoY), representing 45% of overall market penetration.
