Leapmotor C16 Facelift Launches with Aggressive Pricing from USD 21,100

The 2026 Leapmotor C16 debuted on June 18, with a lower entry price of RMB 151,800 (USD 21,100) than the 2025 versions. It is worth mention that a 5-seat variant was introduced to the model.

5-Seat Innovations

First, meet the 5-seat innovations. The 5-seat version include two variants, featuring a one-touch camping mode. By pressing a button, the rear seats will be folded flat into a 2-meter bed electrically. In this mode, a 15.6-inch rear screen + 21-speaker PSS audio will form an immersive theater in your car. The 1,663L trunk accommodates multiple road bikes or ski/surf gear. Besides, Nappa leather seats, 10-point massage/ventilation, tri-zone climate control, and an 8.1L fridge are all standard functions for 5-seat variants. Awesome, right?!

6-Seat Upgrades

6-Seat variants have over 70 upgrades. For example, the enhancements for the second row make passengers more comfort, such as 145° recline with massage functions for the second-row seats, optimized third-row head/legroom.

All Upgraded for 2026 C16

Here are all the upgrades for 2026 C16:

- Adopting the FSD adaptive dampers improve the comfort of the ride by 50%

- With the help of the LMC blowout stabilization, the car maintains stabler and safer in the ride.

- For the BEV variants, the C16 utilizes a larger bather pack of 81.9 kWh battery, increasing the CLTC range to 630km. Meanwhile, the adoption of the 800V SiC platform and the CTC3.0 technology enhancing the 30-80% charging speed shorten to 18 mins.

- For the EREV variants, the car uses a 38.7 kWh battery pack producing a 250km pure electric range, 1,150 km comprehensive range, with a SOC 30% - 80% charging speed of 19 mins

- The upgraded LEAP 3.5 E/E architecture enables OTA upgrades for Leapmotor OS 4.0+, as the system integrates DeepSeek/Tongyi Qianwen AI assistants, supporting continuous dialogue, dialect recognition, and multimodal command understanding, with a significant improvement in response speed.

Sales Momentum  

Leapmotor has sold 45,067 units in May, according to the market data. It’s the third consecutive monthly Leapmotort took the sales crown among Chinese NEV startups. Accumulatively, Leapmotor delivered 173,658 units during Jan-May period, with 17,200 units sold in the overseas markets.

Among all the models, the C16 accounted for 70,000 deliveries since its June 2024 debut. The real champion in the sub-RMB 200,000 large SUV segments.
