On March 31st, the Chinese automaker Avatr unveiled its 2024 Avatr 12. The new model is presented in four versions, with prices ranging from ¥265,800 to ¥400,800.
In terms of design, Avatr 12 exudes an aura of luxury, blending original auto design ideas with a futuristic aesthetic approach. It introduces a new glittering gold exterior color, achieved through an ideal balance of ratios - a length-to-axle ratio of 0.61, a width-to-height ratio of 1.38, and a wheel-to-height ratio of 0.514.
The panoramic digital cocoon-like cabin, complemented by dual zero-gravity seats and a panoramic sound field from CST coaxial speakers, offers users rich vehicle experiences through visual, tactile, and auditory dimensions.
When it comes to intelligent cockpit, Avatr 12 comes standard with three LiDARs and hosts 29 intelligent driving sensors. With the backing of Huawei's HUAWEI ADS 2.0, it possesses intelligent driving abilities that do not rely on high-precision maps.
Safety is also a focal point for Avatr 12. The use of super high-strength mixed aluminum and steel cage for the body increases the strength, with over 80% of the shell featuring aviation-grade aluminum and high-strength steel. Coupled with 19 advanced active safety features and a three LiDAR fusion universal obstacle perception network, Avatr 12 offers 360-degree collision protection.
Avatr 12 also advances in battery protection. Custom-built H-shaped lithium batteries by CATL are encased in high-strength 6-series aluminum alloy battery protection, having undergone more than 150 specialized safety and performance tests.
Additionally, the 800V high-voltage supercharging platform and Huawei's DriveONE power domain solution are adopted. Not only do they match Huawei's full liquid cooling supercharging terminal technology, but also achieve almost 1 km charge speed per second. It's worth mentioning that the liquid cooling supercharging network, co-built by Avatr and Huawei, has been established in more than 340 cities across China, with a construction volume of over 100,000 units, contributing to a more convenient charging experience.
Avatr is a joint venture founded by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited). Each company contributes its expertise in vehicle manufacturing, digital technology, and high-performance batteries, respectively.
