Lei Jun: Xiaomi YU7 Launch Set for Late June with 2,200 MPa Safety Reinforcement  


On June 16, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced via Weibo that the YU7 SUV will debut in late June. The model incorporates four 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel anti-collision beams (two front, two rear), enhancing side-impact protection. Testing shows 52.4% increased front-door load capacity and 40.2% higher energy absorption, with rear doors improving 37.6% and 25.4% respectively. The safety upgrade positions the YU7 as a potential segment disruptor in H2 2025.  



Desay SV Partners with Chery, Hyper for Intelligent Driving Platforms  


Desay SV confirmed collaborations with Chery Auto and Hyper GT on June 16. With Chery, it co-developed the industry’s first mass-production cabin-driving integrated central computing platform based on Desay’s ICPS01E chip, featuring single-chip multi-domain fusion. Separately, Desay and Hyper GT will create next-gen computing platforms for L4 autonomous systems using high-computing chips. Both projects accelerate intelligent cockpit and ADAS commercialization.  



WeRide, Uber, Dubai RTA Sign Robotaxi Deployment Pact  


WeRide partnered with Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Uber on June 15 to launch commercial robotaxi services in Dubai. The service will be onloaded on Uber’s app, and start commercial operations with safety operators, as well as pure unmanned testing within 2025. The transition to fully driverless commercial service is expected to happen by Q1 2026. WeRide has initiated road testing under RTA supervision, deploying its fifth-generation autonomous vehicles.  



Zeekr Produces 500,000th Vehicle, Sets Premium EV Speed Record  


Zeekr celebrated its 500,000th production vehicle—a 009 Grand MPV—on June 16. The milestone took just 44 months since the first 001 rolled off the line in October 2021, setting the fastest pace for any premium BEV brand to reach half a million units. Zeekr’s average transaction price nears RMB 300,000 (USD 41,700), with top models priced around RMB 900,000 (USD 125,000).
