BYD Q1 Passenger Vehicle Sales Hit 986,000 Units, Up 58% YoY  

April 1 — BYD sold 371,000 passenger vehicles in March, up from 301,000 a year earlier, bringing Q1 2025 sales to 986,000 units (+57.93% YoY). The automaker continues to dominate China’s electrified vehicle market with aggressive pricing and rapid model refreshes.  

Geely Auto Q1 Sales Surge 48% to 704,000 Units  

April 1 — Geely Auto reported March sales of 232,000 vehicles (+54% YoY), lifting Q1 totals to 704,000 units (+48% YoY). The growth underscores strong demand for its Galaxy and Lynk & Co electrified lineups.  

Leapmotor Tops EV Startup Rankings; XPeng Extends 30K+ Delivery Streak

April 1 — Leapmotor claimed the top spot among Chinese EV startups in March, outselling rivals Li Auto (30,000+ units), XPeng (30,000+ for the fifth straight month), and NIO, which remains in a delivery slump.  

GAC Trumpchi S7 Launches at RMB 169,800 with Dual Powertrain Tech

April 1 — GAC’s premium sub-brand Trumpchi debuted the S7 mid-size 5-seater SUV, priced from RMB 169,800–223,800 (USD 23,400–30,800*). The model offers “dual-mode, triple-energy” flexibility (hybrid/range-extender + pure electric) and features a 25mm-thin lidar (200m range), NVIDIA Orin-X chips, and GAC’s ADiGO GSD autonomous system, a one-stage end-to-end intelligent driving large model, co-developed with Momenta.  

Avatr 06 Opens Pre-Sales from RMB 215,900, Offers 1,200 km EREV Range

April 1 — Avatr’s fourth model, the 06 mid-size sedan, started pre-orders with five variants from RMB 215,900 (USD 33,200*), set for April delivery. The EREV version delivers a 1,200 km total range via a 1.5T range extender, while the BEV model achieves 650 km CLTC. Buyers can choose between Huawei’s ADS 3.0 lidar-based system (27 sensors) or a pure vision-based intelligent driving solution.
