BYD, the Chinese NEV (New Energy Vehicle) manufacturer, has announced the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, their most recent groundbreaking release. This breakthrough paradigm shift in their battery electric vehicle (BEV) model platform significantly improves powertrain performance and charger integration. Concurrently, the Sea Lion 07 EV, the first model based on the new e-Platform, was introduced.
e-Platform 3.0 Evo: The cutting edge of electric vehicle technology
The e-Platform 3.0 Evo boasts a higher level of integration and improved performance capabilities than its predecessor. The upgraded BEV platform features a 12-in-1 electric drive system, which is an advance over the 8-in-1 system of the previously mentioned e-Platform 3.0. The advancement enables motors to reach a record-breaking 23,000rpm, a watershed moment for electric vehicle production around the world.
Combining high-performance and sustainability: The Sea Lion 07 EV
This historic occasion was matched by the debut of the Sea Lion 07 EV, a fully electric SUV based on the groundbreaking e-Platform 3.0 Evo. The Sea Lion 07 EV, which will compete against heavyweights such as Tesla's Model Y, has a competitive starting price of RMB 189,800 ($26,270). The vehicle has already left the assembly line, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.
Sea Lion 07 ev: a new horizon for BYD
The Sea Lion vehicle series represents BYD's Ocean-array SUV model line. The debut model, Sea Lion 07 EV, embodies the main design philosophy, Ocean X idea. This model has amazing dimensions and comes in a variety of configurations, with starting prices ranging from RMB 189,800 to RMB 239,800.
Delivering power and efficiency all at once
The Sea Lion 07 EV's entry-level model excels with an electric motor capable of producing 170 kW and 380 Nm of peak torque. This strong combination accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. With a 71.8-kWh lithium iron phosphate-based blade battery, it has a CLTC range of 550 kilometers.
Harnessing technology to push the boundaries
The Sea Lion 07 EV boasts cutting-edge features such as a DiLink 100 cockpit system, a DiPilot 100 driver assistance system, and the iTAC intelligent torque control system, ensuring improved handling and a premium driving experience. The vehicle can also reduce charging time by up to 40% in severely cold circumstances.
With this double launch, BYD maintains its strong position in the forward-thinking sector of electrified mobility, introducing the world to its most recent advances in EV technology.
