AITO M9 to Get Huawei ADS 4.0 Upgrade in Q3, Cumulative Deliveries Near 600K

March 20 — Huawei’s Richard Yu confirmed the AITO M9 will receive its ADS 4.0 autonomous driving system via OTA in Q3 2024. Seres President He Liyang disclosed cumulative AITO deliveries reached 600,000 units, including 130,000 M5s, 300,000 M7s, and 170,000 M9s.  

Geely Auto Hits Record RMB 240.2B Revenue in 2024, NEV Sales Surge 92%

March 20 — Geely Auto reported 2024 revenue of RMB 240.2 billion (USD 37 billion*), up 34% YoY, driven by 2.177 million vehicle sales (+32% YoY). Net profit attributable to shareholders skyrocketed 213% to RMB 16.6 billion (USD 2.55 billion*), with NEV sales from its three electrified brands reaching 888,000 units (+92% YoY). Average revenue per vehicle rose to RMB 107,000 (USD 16,460*), while gross profit hit RMB 38.2 billion (USD 5.88 billion*) at a 15.9% margin.  

Zeekr Technology Group Breaks RMB 100B Revenue Mark in 2024  

March 20 — Zeekr Technology Group posted 2024 revenue of RMB 113.89 billion (USD 17.52 billion*), up 39% YoY, with vehicle sales contributing RMB 94.56 billion (USD 14.55 billion*). The Zeekr brand alone delivered 220,000 units (+87% YoY), generating RMB 75.9 billion (USD 11.68 billion*) in revenue and a RMB 214 million (USD 32.9 million*) profit under Hong Kong accounting standards. Lynk & Co sales climbed 30% to a record 280,000 units.  

China Delivers First Domestically Built 8,600-Car LNG-Powered RoRo Ship  

March 20 — China launched its first indigenously developed 8,600-car capacity RoRo vessel, measuring 199.9 meters long and 38 meters wide. The dual-fuel (LNG/oil) ship features 14 vehicle decks optimized for efficient loading of cars, trucks, and buses, marking a leap in maritime logistics capabilities.  

FAW Audi A5L Becomes First Luxury ICE Car with Huawei’s Lidar-Free ADAS  

March 19 — The MIIT-listed FAW Audi A5L will debut Huawei’s map-free autonomous driving system, supported by 2 lidars, 6 mmWave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, 13 cameras. Built on Audi’s PPC premium ICE platform and E³ 1.2 E/E architecture, the sedan aims to redefine “smart combustion” benchmarks in China’s luxury B-segment.
