BYD Han EV Flash Charge Edition Market Launch and Pricing
On April 28, 2026, BYD officially launched the Han EV Flash Charge Edition, introducing two distinct configurations to its flagship sedan lineup. The new models are priced between RMB 179,800 (USD 26,100) and RMB 187,800 (USD 27,200). This update marks a significant technological leap for the Han series, integrating BYD’s latest second-generation Blade battery and flash-charging technology. According to BYD, the vehicle aims to provide a refueling-like experience, fundamentally addressing consumer concerns regarding energy replenishment speed.
Breakthrough Charging Efficiency and Battery Safety
The core differentiator of the Han EV Flash Charge Edition is its replenishment speed. Under standard temperatures, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 70% state-of-charge (SOC) in just 5 minutes, and reach 97% SOC in 9 minutes. In extreme cold conditions of -30°C, the charging duration only increases by an additional 3 minutes. This performance is enabled by the second-generation Blade battery, which maintains high safety standards. Technical data indicates the battery remains stable under nail penetration tests even after 500 rapid flash-charging cycles and can withstand bottom impacts at 10 times the national energy standard.
Efficiency metrics for the Han EV Flash Charge Edition have set new benchmarks for the C-segment sedan market. The vehicle achieves a CLTC range of 705km with a recorded power consumption of 10.8kWh per 100km. This figure represents the lowest energy consumption for a vehicle in its class, surpassing the efficiency of many smaller A-segment cars. Powered by a 240kW high-output motor, the flagship sedan achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.5 seconds, balancing long-distance endurance with responsive performance.
Intelligent Driving and Chassis Control Systems
In terms of intelligence, the Han EV Flash Charge Edition features the "God's Eye" 5.0 (DiPilot 300) system. This suite supports high-level functions such as autonomous highway lane changes, automatic overtaking, and ETC non-inductive passage. For urban environments, users can opt for an advanced version equipped with Lidar, unlocking city-level assistance for traffic light recognition, unprotected turns, and congested traffic navigation. The smart parking system has been upgraded to cover over 300 scenarios, including offset parking and remote "out-of-car" parking maneuvers.
Ride quality is enhanced by the DiSus-C (Yunnian-C) intelligent damping body control system. This system includes an active road pre-scanning function capable of identifying road conditions 15 meters ahead. By precisely adjusting the suspension damping in real-time, the vehicle can effectively mitigate vibrations on uneven surfaces.
