On April 2, BYD officially expanded its popular Ocean Series by launching the 2026 Seal 06GT and the 2026 Seal 06DM-i Touring Edition.

The 2026 Seal 06GT is positioned as a high-performance electric GT, with a price range between RMB 128,900 (USD 18,700) and RMB 169,900 (USD 24,600). Simultaneously, the 2026 Seal 06DM-i Touring Edition enters the market with a competitive price tag of RMB 111,900 (USD 16,200) to RMB 139,900 (USD 20,300).

Technical Prowess: Seal 06GT Performance and Charging

The 2026 Seal 06GT boasts a maximum CLTC pure electric range of 620km. Beyond raw endurance, BYD has focused on charging efficiency under extreme conditions. The vehicle features specialized flash-charging technology. This allows the battery to reach a substantial state of charge in minutes; notably, even at temperatures as low as -30°C, the charging time only increases by a mere 3 minutes compared to standard conditions.

In terms of intelligence, the Seal 06GT is equipped with the DiPilot 300 "God's Eye" L 2+ assisted driving system. This hardware suite includes a newly integrated Lidar sensor, enabling the "God's Eye 5.0" software supporting City Navigation on Autopilot (CNOA), Highway Navigation on Autopilot (HNOA), and comprehensive all-scenario automated parking.

Versatility Defined: The Seal 06DM-i Touring Edition

For users seeking long-distance efficiency, the 2026 Seal 06DM-i Touring Edition offers a specialized plug-in hybrid solution. This model provides two CLTC pure electric range options of 200km and 300km, catering to different commuting needs. Its fuel efficiency remains a benchmark for the industry, achieving a NEDC fuel consumption of just 3.15L per 100km when the battery is depleted.

The Touring Edition does not compromise on technology, as it also offers the optional DiPilot 300 Lidar-based driving system.
