After a two-week presale, Chery’s Fulwin A9L finally enters the market on July 8 yesterday. According to Fulwin’s official Weibo account, the A9L received 35,680 firm orders in 1 hour after the release.

The mid-to-large-size plug-in hybrid sedan offers 4 trims with prices between RMB 139,900 to RMB197,900 (≈USD 19,400–27,500) during its limited-time exchange promotion. Combining the extreme efficiency with chassis innovations, the car is to rival with the BYD Seal 06 DM-i and Geely Galaxy A7.

Powertrain & Efficiency

Created on Fulwin’s premium high-performance hybrid E system, the A9L boosts a maximum power and torque of 470kW and 854N·m respectively, with a 0-100km/h sprint of 4.9s. Besides, the A9L delivers a pure-electric CLTC range of 260km, and a combined comprehensive range exceeding 2,000km – the highest among mass-produced sedans in its class. The actual testing confirms that the sedan has a fuel consumption of 3.65L/100km.

Chassis & Dynamics

The model’s AI magnetic levitation digital chassis adopts a front double-wishbone, an advanced five-link rear axle, and a CDC electromagnetic suspension, which together enables the car to achieve 50% higher cornering stability and 30% improved vibration damping versus mainstream rivals.

Brand Momentum

The Fulwin, a sub-brand of Chery, originates its name from Chery’s first-ever sedan. After a revive in November 2023, the Fulwin is served as a premium NEV arm of the Chery Group competing in the fast-growing era of intelligent electrification in the industry. In its 20-month establishment, the Fulwin brand launched a number of models, including Fulwin A8, A8L, T8, T9, and T10, covering sedan and SUVs, offering PHEV and EV powertrains.

Chery Group just reported its June 2025 sales volumes totaling 233,607 vehicles (up 16.6% YoY), in which the NEVs sales surge 59.6% to 71,582 units.
