NIO ONVO L90 Launches at RMB 17,900 with Battery BAAS Option  

NIO’s sub-brand ONVO has debuted the L90 electric SUV with prices starting at RMB 265,800 (≈USD 36,900) or RMB 179,800 (≈USD 25,000) under battery subscription on July 31. Deliveries commence immediately. The model offers six- or seven-seat configurations within a 900V high-voltage architecture, featuring 4,195mm longitudinal cabin space, 670L storage capacity, and a 240L smart front trunk. Owners access NIO’s nationwide infrastructure of 3,430 battery swap stations and 4,701 charging hubs.

BYD Yangwang U8L Dingshi Edition Presales Open at RMB 1.3 Million  

BYD’s premium brand Yangwang has initiated global presales for its U8L Dingshi Edition full-size luxury SUV at RMB 1.3 million (≈USD 180,600) on July 31. Built on the e4 platform, the model features upgraded DiSus-P intelligent hydraulic body control with dual-valve hydraulic dampers for enhanced vibration filtration, stability, and NVH refinement.  

CAAM: China NEV Commercial Vehicle Exports Surge 230% in H1 2025  

New energy commercial vehicle exports in China – encompassing electric vans, trucks, and buses – grew 230% year-on-year during the first half of 2025, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) recent data. This aligns with global projections forecasting 100% growth in NEV commercial sales outside China, potentially reaching 450,000 units annually. Domestic manufacturers are accelerating production to meet rising demand from logistics and municipal fleets worldwide.  

BYD H1 Overseas Passenger Vehicle and Pickups Sales Hit 470,086 Units  

Li Yunfei, BYD’s General Manager of Brand and Public Relations, confirmed cumulative overseas sales of 470,086 passenger vehicles and pickups during H1 2025. This contributed to BYD’s global total of 2,145,954 units (+31.5% YoY), reinforcing its position as China’s top automaker, world’s top NEV manufacturer..  

10,000th Leapmotor B01 Rolls Off Production Line  

Leapmotor has manufactured its 10,000th B01 electric sedan just six days after the model’s July 24 market launch. Priced from RMB 89,800 to 119,800 (≈USD 12,500–16,600), the B-series pioneer features Snapdragon SA8295P cockpit computing and up to 650km CLTC range.
