Huawei's Aito M9 Electric Car Achieves Unprecedented Safety with Innovative Single-Piece Chassis Technology

Huawei's latest electric vehicle, the Aito M9, has achieved a remarkable safety milestone by earning an A-level certification in the 'Super Crash' category, a distinction unparalleled among Chinese cars. In a crash test video involving two substantial vehicles, the electric SUV demonstrated its robust safety features.

The Aito M9 stands out with its innovative single-piece chassis, a construction technique utilizing 9,000-ton aluminum casting machines. Notably, the front and rear chassis, along with critical areas like the end of the crumple zone in the front, lower A-pillar, and nearly the entire C-pillar, are manufactured as unified components, contributing to enhanced strength.

Seres, Huawei's manufacturing partner, incorporated 'submarine steel' in 12 specific parts of the Aito M9. This advanced material exhibits resilience under high pressure, reaching up to 2,000 MPa, reinforcing the vehicle's safety measures and ensuring durability even in severe accident scenarios.
