Buick Electra E7 Market Launch and Availability

Buick’s high-end new energy sub-brand, Buick Electra, has officially announced that its flagship SUV, the Electra E7, will be formally launched on April 22. The new vehicle will be offered in three distinct configurations with a pricing spectrum ranging from RMB 160,000 (USD 23,200) to RMB 210,000 (USD 30,400). AutoCango has reported that the pre-sales for this highly anticipated model commenced on April 10. Currently, display and test-drive vehicles have already reached 550 dealerships across 250 cities nationwide, with customer deliveries expected to begin in late April.

In terms of dimensions, the Electra E7 positions itself as a formidable contender in the mid-size segment. The vehicle measures 4850mm in length, 1910mm in width, and 1676mm in height, with a generous wheelbase of 2850mm. These figures indicate that the Electra E7 is larger than Buick’s own Encore Plus and surpasses its competitors like the BYD Song L and Seal 06DM-i. The exterior design features a sleek fastback silhouette complemented by chrome accents along the window lines and side skirts, 20-inch high-gloss wheels, all emphasize its premium positioning.

Sophisticated Cabin Technology and Comfort Features

The interior of the Buick Electra E7 is designed around an immersive wrap-around cockpit that prioritizes both technology and luxury. The dashboard is anchored by a 15.6-inch floating central display and a 10.25-inch rectangular instrument cluster, further enhanced by an AR-HUD heads-up display. The smart cabin utilyzes the Qualcomm 8775 flagship chip, which supports the Doubao AI voice assistant for seamless interaction.

The seating arrangement is particularly innovative, offering "floating layer" seats that can transition into a double-bed mode or a specialized front-passenger single-bed mode.

Luxury extends to the front passenger seat, which is an Eames-inspired zero-gravity recliner capable of achieving a 120-degree angle for both the abdomen and legs. For added convenience, the cabin includes a silver-ion preservation hot/cold box and multi-functional tables for second-row passengers. The auditory experience is provided by a 20-speaker 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system, while eye-protection ceiling lights and anti-motion sickness fragrance systems ensure a comfortable environment for all occupants.

Advanced Intelligent Driving and Hybrid Performance

On the technological front, the Buick Electra E7 is equipped with an extensive sensor suite comprising 27 hardware components, including Lidar. This hardware powers the Momenta R6 reinforcement learning large model, which covers highway, urban, and parking scenarios. According to official brand data, the system enables City NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) and multi-scenario automated parking. Safety is further reinforced through a multi-level takeover warning system and a 24-hour dedicated emergency service to assist drivers in critical situations.

The powertrain features the "Zhenlong" Plug-in Hybrid Pro system, offering a choice between a 1.5L engine and a more powerful 1.5T engine. These internal combustion units produce 72kW and 115kW respectively, working in tandem with a 165kW (224 hp) electric drive motor.

Battery options range from 19.7kWh to 32.6kWh, providing a maximum CLTC pure electric range exceeding 210km and a comprehensive total range of over 1600km. Despite this high performance, the vehicle remains exceptionally efficient, with fuel consumption in a depleted state maintained at the 5L per 100km level.
