BYD Celebrates 30 Years: 10 Millionth New Energy Vehicle Rolls Off Line

BYD honored its 30th anniversary with a remarkable achievement - the production of its 10 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV). The milestone vehicle, a Denza Z9, was handed over to Feng Ji, founder and CEO of Game Science and producer of "Black Myth: Wukong." The handover ceremony took place during BYD's 30th anniversary and 10 millionth NEV rollout event.

Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Co., Ltd., underscored that the company is set to invest $100 billion RMB (approximately $15 billion USD) in the next phase of development, dubbed the 'second half' of intelligentization, which focuses on integrating artificial intelligence with automotive technology. This investment aims to bring about a comprehensive upgrade in vehicle intelligence, driving BYD’s vision of fully intelligent vehicles.

Xiaomi Reports Strong Q3 Performance

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Group announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2024 on November 18. The company delivered 67,157 units of its Xiaomi SU7 series vehicles by September 30, 2024. The Smart Electric Vehicle (EV) and Innovation Business segment reported total revenue of RMB 97 billion for Q3 2024, with smart EVs contributing RMB 95 billion. Although the segment recorded a gross margin of 17.1%, it faced an adjusted net loss of RMB 15 billion. Despite the loss, Xiaomi remains focused on achieving its revised target to deliver 130,000 units of the Xiaomi SU7 series for the year 2024.

MG ES5 and MG7 2025 Editions Unveiled at Guangzhou Auto Show

At the 22nd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition, SAIC Motor's MG brand showcased the MG7 2025 edition and the MG ES5. Notably, the MG ES5 demonstrated impressive performance in a 10-hour extreme endurance test, achieving a combined operating range of 451.6 km and a fulfillment rate of 86%. Within just five days of its market release, MG ES5 garnered over 5,000 orders.

The MG7 2025 edition focuses on advanced driving and smart cabin systems, with 59 aspects of cabin experience improvements. It will also receive OTA (over-the-air) updates to cover the entire highway network. These enhancements are set to provide exceptional performance and stability. The new model will officially debut on Asia's first ridge track in Zhejiang Shaoxing later this month.
