BYD, a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has successfully opened its 100th dealership store in Brazil and has committed to expand its network to 250 locations by the end of next year.
The move is a huge step toward a greener future and reflects Brazil's booming electric vehicle sector. Furthermore, BYD plans to establish a large production facility in Brazil in the next years, demonstrating its belief in the country's potential.
The plant will produce chassis for electric buses and trucks, new energy passenger cars, and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery components. The new establishments are expected to create approximately 5,000 local jobs.
Autocango discovered that BYD has registered four new automobile models in Brazil: the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition/Glory Edition, the Equation Leopard 5, and the Yangwang U7 & U9. The Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition/Glory Edition and Leopard 5 are set to debut as early as the fourth quarter of this year.
