Last night of March 18th, Chinese NEV giant unveiled its next-gen Super e-Platform and started presale of its flagship Han L EV sedan and Tang L EV SUV.
The Super e-Platform is branded as the world’s strongest pure-electric architecture, by upgrading the three major electric vehicle technologies, with multiple techs reaching global leading level. As Wang Chuanfu declared on the event, BYD is aiming to eliminate the charging-refueling gap.
Super e-Platform: Redefining EV Architecture
What make the Super e-Platform so powerful? Thanks to the "Megawatt Flash Charge" technology and the 30,511 RPM Hyper-Speed Motor.
According to BYD, the MegaWatt Flash Charge Technology can deliver 1 MW peak power, a maximum charging current of 1,000A, a maximum charging rate of 10C. It can achieve 2km range every second at peak speed, which means, it can charge 407 km of range in 5 minutes.
The Hyper-speed Motor features 30,511 RPM, marking the in industry’s first mass-produced **30,000+ rpm motor. Though smaller and lighter in weight and size, the motor boosts a 580 kW power (778 hp), enhances the vehicle’s speed and driving experience.
Han L EV and Tang L EV: Pre-Sale Details
On the event, Wang Chuanfu announced the presale of the Han L EV and Tang L EV, the first models leveraging the Super e-Platform, with pre-sale prices between RMB 270,000 to 350,000 (USD 41,538–53,846*) and RMB 280,000 to 360,000 (USD 43,077–55,384*), respectively.
