Tang EV and Tang DM-p Glory Edition are on the market at lower prices.

BYD has released Glory Edition updates for the Tang EV and Tang DM-p, marking another step forward in the transition to alternative energy cars. Both models' prices have dropped following a two-month-old upgrade for the Tang DM-i, which has promising enhancements. This decision is consistent with BYD's two-month-long initiative to reduce starting prices.

Tang EV Glory Edition now starts at RMB 219,800, down RMB 30,000, or 12%. Similarly, the beginning price of the hybrid Tang DM-p Glory Edition has been reduced by 14.83%, from RMB 269,800 to RMB 229,800.

Discernable Aesthetics

The Tang family belongs to the Dynasty series and is the flagship SUV, promoting BYD's products amid other EV and DM models on the market. EV models signify for 100% electric, as opposed to the hybrid component of DM models. The Tang DM-p is the performance version of the DM variation, with a focus on fuel economy similar to the DM-i model. Both models propose solutions for distinct consumer needs.

The Nuts and Bolts

Tang EV Glory Edition pricing levels range from RMB 219,800 to RMB 269,800, all of which represent an RMB 30,000 decrease from previous models. The configuration is 4,900 mm long, 1,950 mm wide, and 1,725 mm height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. This design space is supported by three battery packs with capacities of 90.3 kWh and 108.8 kWh, resulting in claimed ranges of 600 km, 730 km, and 635 km, respectively.

The Tang DM-p Glory Edition versions range in price from RMB 229,800 to RMB 269,800, with each model costing RMB 40,000 less. The Tang DM-p, which offers a unique combination, comes in both standard and warrior editions. Both variants include four-wheel drive and can accelerate from a complete stop to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.

Combining BYD's sales record in March, which was the second-highest after December last year, with the 16.04 percent growth in Tang family model sales in the same month, demonstrates the growing acceptability and adoption of these models.
