Changan Auto Reports 87.03% NEV Sales Surge in September  


Changan Automobile disclosed on October 8 that its total sales for the first nine months of 2025 reached 2,066,075 units, including 465,305 vehicles sold overseas. September sales alone totaled 266,315 units, reflecting a 24.92% year-on-year increase. Cumulative sales from January to September rose 8.46% compared to the same period last year. The company’s self-owned brand sales reached 225,856 vehicles in September, up 30.83% year-on-year, bringing the year-to-date total to 1,750,414 units—a 10.47% increase. New energy vehicle (NEV) sales stood out with 103,582 units sold in September, surging 87.03% year-on-year, while cumulative NEV sales for 2025 reached 724,249 units, marking a 59.72% growth.



Chery Group NEV Sales Jump 77.1% in First Three Quarters  


Chery Group announced on October 9 that it sold 91,590 new energy vehicles in September, a 55.4% year-on-year increase. During the first three quarters of 2025, the automaker’s cumulative NEV sales reached 587,545 units, growing 77.1 percent compared to the same period in 2024.



Great Wall Motor September Sales Climb 23.29%  


Great Wall Motor released its September production and sales report on October 8, reporting total sales of 133,639 vehicles, a 23.29% year-on-year increase. Production during the same month reached 134,404 units, up 25.38% from a year earlier.



NIO to Launch World Model 2.0 with Enhanced AI Capabilities  


On October 9, NIO announced plans to roll out iterative versions of its World Model 2.0 from late 2025 through the first quarter of 2026. The upgraded system aims to incorporate language understanding alongside spatiotemporal cognition, building an open-set intelligent engine for unrestricted interaction. Through reinforcement learning, the new version will further enhance long-sequence reasoning capabilities. Simultaneously, NIO has restructured its autonomous driving division by merging it with the general artificial intelligence organization to streamline development.



XPeng to Unveil Breakthrough in Physical AI at Tech Day  


XPeng Motors revealed on October 9 that it will announce a major breakthrough in physical AI at its upcoming AI Technology Day. The company reported key progress in its world base model’s ability to simulate and reason about real-world scenarios. XPeng’s AI team, having dedicated over a year to developing a physical world AI base model, has rebuilt its underlying AI infrastructure and methodology. The new base model utilizes the largest dataset in the brand’s history and is described as a critical step toward achieving large-scale L4 autonomous driving.
