China's Green Energy and Transport Exports Surge in 2024

On January 13, during a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, Mr. Lv, spokesperson for the General Administration of Customs and Director of the Statistics and Analysis Department, reported significant growth in China's green energy and transportation exports in 2024. Wind turbine exports increased by 71.9%, solar product exports exceeded 200 billion yuan for the fourth consecutive year, and lithium battery exports reached a record 3.91 billion units. In green transportation, electric locomotive exports continued to rise for the fifth consecutive year, while electric motorcycles and bicycles saw strong overseas sales, with exports surpassing 40 billion yuan for the first time. Additionally, electric vehicle exports exceeded 2 million units for the first time.

Henan Province to Accelerate Green and Low-Carbon Development in Transportation in 2025

On January 13, 2025, the Henan Provincial Transportation Work Conference in Zhengzhou revealed the province’s focus on green and low-carbon development for the year. Plans include a green transformation of transportation equipment, aiming for over 50% of heavy-duty trucks to be replaced with green alternatives. The province will also promote the integration of transportation and energy, including the application of photovoltaic energy storage and charging on highways, and support the creation of the Zhengzhou-Bianluo-Pu Hydrogen Corridor. Additionally, from January 25 to December 31, 2025, hydrogen-powered trucks will be exempt from tolls, while electric trucks will enjoy a 30% toll discount on provincial highways.

Geely and Linglong Tire Launch Joint Development of High-Performance Tires

According to industry sources, a ceremony was recently held at Linglong Tire’s National Enterprise Technology Center to mark the launch of the joint development project for “High-Performance All-Dimensional Tires” between Geely Engineering Center and Linglong Technology Center. The two parties held in-depth discussions on the development of these high-performance tires and successfully signed a cooperation agreement. The official initiation of the project marks a new and deeper phase in the collaboration between Linglong Tire and Geely Automotive.
