Cui Dongshu: Passenger Car Retail Sales Forecast for 2025 Raised to 23.43M Units


On February 24th, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), announced that, given the positive performance of the passenger car industry in January 2025 and considering the favorable policy and future environmental change trends for the year, the CPCA's forecasting team slightly adjusted the annual industry prediction for 2025 in mid-February. The expected retail sales volume of passenger cars for 2025 is projected to reach 23.43 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2%, and a rise of 70,000 units compared to the prediction made in January.



XPENG X9’s First Batch of 300 Right-Hand Drive Vehicles Shipped Globally


Recently, XPENG Motors held its 255th overseas shipment ceremony at the Nansha Car Terminal in Guangzhou Port, simultaneously initiating the global market shipment of the first batch of 300 right-hand drive XPENG X9 vehicles. This batch of 300 XPENG X9 vehicles will be directly shipped to Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand. XPENG Motors aims to cover 60 countries and regions by 2025, build over 300 overseas service outlets, target the top three in global new energy vehicle exports by 2027, and achieve half of its sales from overseas by 2033.



Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Set to Launch on February 27th


On February 24th, Xiaomi Corporation announced via its official Weibo account that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will be launched on February 27th. Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, expressed on his personal Weibo that this launch will feature the two most premium products since Xiaomi's founding 15 years ago: the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. “Ultra signifies the ultimate pursuit and pure aspiration. This represents the culmination of Xiaomi's high-end exploration over the past five years and marks the beginning of Xiaomi's foray into the super-premium segment.”



WeRide’s New Mass-produced Robotaxi GXR Begins Large-Scale Commercial Operation in Beijing


On February 24th, WeRide's new generation mass-produced Robotaxi, the “GXR,” was officially approved to offer “driverless” autonomous ride-hailing services (Robotaxi) in Beijing. The service area includes the core region of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, encompassing key locations such as the city's high-speed rail station. The GXR is the second pure driverless commercial Robotaxi model launched by WeRide in Beijing. Following its debut on the Uber platform in Abu Dhabi in December last year, this marks its first large-scale commercial deployment in China. In addition to city roads, the WeRide GXR is also authorized to operate commercial Robotaxi services on high-speed routes covering Beijing Daxing International Airport.
