EU Imposes Five-Year Subsidy Tariffs on Chinese Electric Vehicles
The European Commission has concluded its anti-subsidy investigation, announcing a five-year final subsidy tariff on battery electric vehicles (BEVs) imported from China. This decision affects major Chinese auto producers and is aimed at countering what the EU perceives as unfair competition from subsidized Chinese electric cars.

Xiaomi SU7 Achieves 20,000 Deliveries in October
On October 29, Xiaomi Auto announced that in the third month since its launch, the Xiaomi SU7 achieved over 10,000 deliveries, while in October alone, the company achieved 20,000 units. Xiaomi is on track to reach its annual goal of 100,000 deliveries by November.
Meanwhile, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, mentioned that on October 30, Xiaomi will begin the nationwide rollout of citywide navigation, supported by end-to-end + VLM visual language models, which has "car-to-car" navigation capabilities, with a public beta for selected users in late November and a pioneer version in December. There’s news for SU7 Ultra as well. The company announced the pre-sale price for Xiaomi SU7 Ultra at ¥814,900, with deliveries scheduled for March 2025.
China Automobile Dealers Association: China Pickup Sales Growth From January to September
Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Passenger Car Association of the China Automobile Dealers Association, reported a solid performance in the pickup truck market. In September, 45,000 units were sold, showing a 3% year-on-year increase and a 17% month-on-month rise. Year-to-date (January to September), 386,000 pickup trucks were sold, achieving a 2% year-on-year growth despite the overall decline in the light truck market.
